Yorkshire holiday parks

Yorkshire is England’s largest county and there is an enormous amount to discover there with a beautiful variety of landscapes from coast to untamed countryside.

Yorkshire is rich in history and its heritage is wonderfully preserved. The city of York was once the centre of a Danish kingdom and its Viking heritage is displayed magically in the Jorvik Viking Centre in the city. York’s magnificent Minster is a focal point for most visitors from which to explore the Roman remains of the city walls and the medieval buildings.

Beyond York there are two stunning national parks to discover - the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors. The Dales are wonderful for walking and there is a nature trail incorporating Ingleborough Show Cave, home to the deepest waterfall in England. If Ingleborough captures your imagination your next stop may well be White Scar Cave at Ingleton, Europe’s longest show cave at 300 feet.

Explore Yorkshire’s religious history at Rievaulx Abbey, Whitby Abbey and marvel at Richmond Castle and Castle Howard. If you don’t have the time or inclination to tramp across the Moors you can always take them in on the majestic North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway.

And if the kids have had their fill of culture, give them an entertainment boost at Flamingo Land’s zoo and theme park.
